Delta Photo Club outing

A few people braved the rain and went out on a photo walk in Vancouver (better saturation in the rain anyways!).

We started at the Sun Yat-Seng Gardens at UBC and I did a couple long exposure photographs of the little waterfall there. I took the one farther back and then moved closer. I used a ten stop ND filter (after experimenting with a 4 and 6) and set the timer at 30 seconds. I converted them to black and white as I am not really sold on their colours and thought perhaps it highlights the water a bit more.

Then we drove to the VanDusen Gardens for the Cherry Blossom Festival. I was also playing with the in camera triple exposures and the next three images show that. I did all long exposures at 30 sec. all day - except the next one, which is a series of three exposures shot at 8 seconds. The girls were twirling in the circle and nothing showed up of course on the 30 second exposure so I shortened it to eight and luckily they were still dancing! When I had set up the circle was empty and I was lucky that the girls came along as they made the shot.

And since I went to the Andre Gallant seminar today I played with mirroring on the following images (done in post). I thought the photos were a bit boring and so I thought I'd try it just for fun.

Our last stop was at the industrial park under the Granville Street bridge:
