Nikon and Beau Photo sponsored a shoot at the Canadians vs Tri-City baseball game at Nat Bailey Stadium. They brought out a series of super cool lenses to use, including the 200 f2.0 (my favourite!), 200-400mm, 400mm F2.8 and 600mm f4.0. I had great fun using the 600mm!!
It's the first time I've covered an event without capturing at least one really good moment! At first I tried to catch everything, from the pitch and the bat to the catch and then the bases. When Daudi X shot beside me with the 200mm f2 he immediately captured 2 great slides! From that I learned to focus on a base at a time, especially with the 600mm. But I was having too much fun panning around with that thing to stay disciplined. Thanks to Paul Wright for some great tips as well! I think another baseball game is in my near future to try again!!
And here is a shot of the moon on the D4, 600mm + 1.4 extension, f4, 1/1000 sec, 12800 ISO
